Hair Piece Reporting in News Media

Reporters traditionally don't tell readers stories on hair pieces or investigate if a celebrity is using a hair piece. The potential for news stories about hair pieces written in the media are slim.  The reason is that many Hollywood celebrities use partial hair piece or full wig coverage as the norm.  The following are interesting reports about hair pieces found in open source article reporting.  Readers who are in need of hair piece or who suffer from hair loss and use them might find it humorous and just plain interesting notes to read about hair pieces on the news media. 

June 2006, one such article reported that Manhattan auction where one of pop art icon  Andy Warhol's hair piece that sold for $10,800 at an auction in New York.  A trademark silver hair piece fetched such exuberated price is news worthy.  The hair piece and his strips of toupee tape applied to inside were also sold.  Andy Warhol wore the hair piece in the 1980s.  Warhol first wore wigs ( http://www.nuhair.net/wigs.html  in the 1960s to cover up baldness and later as a fashion statement.  The wig's pre-sale estimate was between $4000 and $6000. 

What about Donald Trump hair?  Is it a hair piece or not?  On seeing his popular show “The Apprentice” on TV, many speculated that Donald wore a hair piece.  However, when a gust of wind showed his bare scalp on one of his latest episode the question came to rest and Trump was quoted as saying” when we stepped outside the weather was really terrible and very windy. It proved only one thing. That it is actually my hair. It's not a hairpiece. Some day maybe, but not now.”  Quote was taken from MSNBC the Scoop. 

Another story found in The Patriot- news dated Sept 2004 and the heading is eye catching story “Man pleads guilty to snatching hair piece.( http://www.nuhair.net/hair_piece.html )”   The man was sentenced to probation for snatching the hair piece off the head of another man along with a gold chain at a restaurant.  His sentence was not a light one. He was sentenced to 23 months' probation, fined $500 and ordered to write a letter of apology to the victim. The court found the robbing of the gold chain as important as the humiliation of embarrassing the person wearing a hair piece, in addition to stealing the hairpiece crime.  The Judge, who considered the humiliating fact of revealing baldness as a factor in his sentencing, should be commended for good judgment.
