Non surgical hair replacements hairpieces
and wigs are widely available in the market and are still the most
common method of concealing baldness or thinning hair. For large
balding spot on the scalp or for complete baldness this is the only
alternative. Dramatic results such as full head of hair or as
little as desired can be achieved.

Only surgical hair
replacement that are really hair transplants require medical
surgery. With surgical hair replacement the doctor uses your existing
hair to fill in your thinning area. Therefore you need to have
healthy thick hair in the back and sides to use as donor areas of hair.
Surgical hair restoration fit those who desire modest change in hair
fullness. Read more on hair transplants hair replacement methods.

Non surgical hair replacement systems
Generally,
in non surgical hair replacement system the
added hair consists of human or synthetic hair, implanted one hair at a time
into a skin type base, a
mesh, lace or polyurethane base. There are
several ways of attaching hair replacements for daily
or extended wear, such as, hair weaves, bonding, and
integration.
In the past, hairpieces , hair pieces or toupee looked quite obvious with too much hair and hair colors that did not match ones hair.
In addition, attachments methods were quite flimsy. Today, non
surgical hair replacements are
more natural looking with technological advanced attachment methods. A
periodic care is required as often as getting a regular haircut.
Sensi-Graft® hair replacement
is the newest non surgical hair replacement restoration
solution. Sensi-Graft®
hair replacement is safe
alternative to hair transplant, micro-grafts surgical hair
replacements, or chemicals medications.
Some hair replacements are permanent for several weeks
with the use of medical adhesives, bonding, or integration. In a
non-permanent attachment, special tapes are used and need to be replaced
every few days.
Bonding, also called
fusion, is the use of medical adhesives to attach the added new hair
around the perimeters to the balding or thinning areas of the scalp.
Reapplication of the process is done between four to six weeks, as often
as getting haircuts.
A note about hair
weaves - hair weaves are braided hair into the existing hair and 'sewing' the added hair
replacement to the braids. Avoid hair weaving since the tight braiding used in
this procedure pulls the hair and causes hair follicular inflammation and more
hair loss.
In
hair integration, strings of several hair are glued to existing hair. Hair
integration is also used as a special hair replacement made with large openings
for pulling the client's own hair through for added fullness. This is
used for people whose hair is thinning evenly all around and not with large bald
areas.
